Email certificates (S/MIME) and server certificates (SSL) It is intended to issue email certificates (S/MIME) and server certificates (SSL) in the amount of 9000 concurrent mail certificates and 100 concurrent server certificates for a period of time of four years each. The publication of a corresponding call for proposals is not planned before June 2026. Requirements throughout the entire term are: - the leadership of both the root certification body and everyone at the Certificates involved in the certificate chain in manufacturer-maintained certificate stores of the Windows and Apple operating systems (S/MIME certificates), - the management of the root certification authority in manufacturer-maintained certificate stores of common browsers Chrome, Firefox and Edge (SSL certificates) - the processing of the data on behalf of the controller exclusively within the territory of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or in countries for which an adequacy decision has been made according to Art. 45 Paragraph 1 GDPR, - Compliance with the recommendations of the Certification Authority Browser Forum (CA/B Forum, https://cabforum.org/working-groups/smime/requirements/) during the term, - an existing interface in German The certificate management certLife from the manufacturer Secardeo used by the Bundestag.
