The building construction and real estate department of the city of Gelsenkirchen is planning the following measure: A new building with an auditorium and cafeteria as well as a triple sports hall is planned for the cultural school in Gelsenkirchen. The new building will be based on the learning house concept three-story building (ground floor + two upper floors without basement) will be built. The overall concept includes the existing switch house, which is under monument protection, as well as the bastion square and the festival area in terms of the outdoor area European route integrated. The building is designed as a passive house and meets the relevant energy standards.
