Due to the expansion of offshore wind energy, the installed performance from WEO should increase to min. 30 GW and until 2045 to min. 70 GW. The life cycle of offshore wind farms creates a number of activities that create permanent noise for limited periods (e.g. supply ships) or Curdressing intermittent noise (pulsed signals) directly. In addition, geophysical examination methods (seismics and sonare, sub-bottom profiler) create mixed signals. All of these sources generate underwater noise from different intensity, duration, frequency spectra and modes of action The fauna. The aim of the project is the noise sources so far that can be equally harmful, especially the intermittent noise by sub-bottom profiler, fan echolote, ultrasound antifouling that are required for exploration and later accompanying examinations, to analyze precisely as well as to develop evaluation standards and possibilities for reducing the entries by these ship -bound examination methods. It is currently unclear how these sources in relation to the protection of species (killing and considerable disturbance) and area protection (especially disorder) can be assessed cumulatively. Proven approaches are currently missing to reduce the sources of permanent sonic entries. The project is a base that can be ensured by conditions and incentive that ships and sound sources operate as quietly as possible become.
