The state agency for road construction is planning to convert the Saarland cycle path signage to the Germany-wide FGSV (M WBR) system.
Directions concept
Saarland currently uses its own pioneering signage system for cycling, which is based on the system of Switzerland oriented. The tourist cycle routes of the "SaarRadland" designated by the state as well as individual inter-communal routes (tourism and everyday life) are signposted. The latter, which have been designated by municipalities or districts, do not necessarily comply with the cycling plan (RVP). As part of the project, the existing signage will be dismantled and replaced with new signposts according to the general standard. In addition, the everyday cycling connections set out in the new RVP, as well as local authority routes, are to be integrated into the network. The contractor should do this Plan cycle route directions according to M WBR 2024 and prepare the contract for the production and installation of the signs.
