Guinea-Bissau is one of the most climate-vulnerable nations due to its geographical position, economic dependency on climate-sensitive sectors and limited institutional capacity to address large-scale adaptation. Guinea-Bissau has engaged in global climate governance by ratifying the Paris Agreementand submitting its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCS.) Despite these efforts, adaptation planning remains fragmented, and the country lacks a structured National Adaptation Plan (NAP) to systematically address risks, prioritize interventions, and integrate climate resilience into nationalpolicies. To bridge this gap, the Government of Guinea-Bissau aims to develop a comprehensive and actionable NAP that provides clear strategies for vulnerability reduction, sectoral adaptation, institutional coordination, and climate finance mobilization. This initiative will ensure that adaptationis mainstreamed across national planning processes, reinforcing long-term sustainability, resilience, and social inclusivity.
