Tender Details

The subject of the tender is demolition work and pollutant remediation on the chemistry laboratory building, Building L (built 1969-1972) at the University of Konstanz. The building is part of a listed ensemble and will be used throughout the entire construction period used in ongoing research and teaching operations. The services are carried out under cramped construction site conditions, with limited storage space and taking into account the protective measures for dealing with the existing components contaminated with pollutants (including asbestos, PCB, PCP, heavy metals) and increased requirements for occupational safety, fire and explosion protection (partial areas with EX zones). Main quantities and components: • approx. 3, 800 m2 of demolition of PCB-containing joints • approx. 1, 000 m2 of demolition of PCB-containing coatings Balconies and stairs • approx. 2, 700 m2 demolition of flat roof construction including gravel, PU insulation and bitumen sealing containing asbestos • approx. 2, 700 m2 emergency sealing on flat roofs • approx. 450 m2 demolition of wooden cladding containing PCP • 18 pieces of demolition of doors containing asbestos • approx. 4 tonnes of demolition of steel structure • Disposal: including approx. 45 tonnes of asbestos Special requirements: • Working within ongoing university operations. • Coordination with parallel trades and neighboring construction sites. • Work over and in sensitive areas Explosion protection requirements (EX zones). • Stripping of precast concrete parts on a separate construction area on the university campus (approx. 1.2 km away).
