The InternationalFinance Corporation (IFC) is seeking to hire a consulting firm or a consortium(“Consultant”) to support the design and implementation of a strategicInvestment Mapping along the Lobito Corridor across agribusiness andmanufacturing value chains, energy, mining, digital, urban infrastructure, andother auxiliary services. The Consultant will be responsible for mapping potentialprivate sector investment opportunities in the Lualaba and Haut-Katanga provinceswhich are mining and industrial hubs, and also in the Haut-Lomami andTanganyika provinces which are adjacent to the Lobito Corridor in the DemocraticRepublic of Congo (DRC). The Consultant must take into consideration factorslike the railway route, gauge, and capacity, as they consolidate the investmentproposals. The objectiveof this assignment is to conduct a comprehensive mapping of existing andpotential private sector-led investment activities and opportunities in DRCalong the Lobito Corridor, focusing on private sector actors (anchor investorsand SMEs), and the potential Private Sector Participation (PSP) models(including PPPs) that can be effectively deployed to mobilize private capitalacross agribusiness and manufacturing value chains, energy, mining, digital, urban infrastructure, and other auxiliary services. The mappingexercise will be conducted through desk review, site visits and stakeholderconsultations in Lualaba and Haut-Katanga provinces which are both the mining andindustrial hubs of DRC, and through which the Corridor runs. The other key provincesadjacent to the Corridor are Haut-Lomani and Tanganyika which are mostly drivenby crops and livestock farming.
