Tender Details

Procurement of an X-ray detector configuration for a scanning electron microscope The subject of the delivery is a configuration of X-ray detectors for an existing scanning electron microscope (type Verios 5 UC, Thermo Fisher) with a maximum of two free ones Installation locations. At least one detector should have a flat design and can be positioned horizontally, over thin, transparent sample layers, in order to detect carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur with the highest sensitivity to analyze biological objects. For example, in thin (70 nm) heavy metal-containing sections of immature poxviruses with compact DNA/protein inclusions, the phosphorus peak without peak unfolding in the spectrum (cps representation) must be significantly above that Background must be detectable (at max. 3 nA current and sample imaging with the STEM detector). In addition, at least one detector should be usable over the entire excitation energy range of up to 30 kV for simultaneous detection of Elements in the range from carbon to at least uranium (energy resolution at least 129 eV, manganese, K-alpha peak). The performance described, in particular the high sensitivity required when detecting light elements (carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, Phosphorus and sulfur) in thin layers and imaging using STEM, was demonstrated in tests exclusively by Bruker Nano GmbH with the Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer QUANTAX FlatQUAD device. ...
