With receipt of the direct award and the upcoming start of operations on January 1, 2026, MOIN will assume central responsibility for planning, organization and control of the entire city and Regional bus service in the district. There are currently 75 routes with around 180 buses serving the heavily rural region. MOIN GmbH is planning to introduce an automatic passenger counting system (AFZS) into its bus fleet. Due to the great effort There is currently no systematic and up-to-date data basis for manual demand surveys for public transport service planning in the Lüneburg district. The aim of this project is to convert the vehicles into buses used in public transport in the Lüneburg district in 2026 to be equipped with AFZS in order to - obtain a comprehensive and up-to-date data basis for future service planning and timetable design in city and regional bus transport; - the vehicle sizes used systematically match the determined ones to be able to adapt to demand; - to obtain a precise database for further analyzes and concepts.
