Construction description In the main building of the LJKA, a former technical area on floors -3 and -4 is being converted into a radiopharmaceutical laboratory for the care of nuclear medicine patients. On the east side of the building, a new underground building will be built directly adjacent to the existing building on floor -5, in which radionuclides are produced for the synthesis of radiopharmaceuticals using a cyclotron. A new above-ground building with a radiation protection lock connects the new cyclotron bunker with the laboratory area. Access to the radiation protection lock is via an existing hallway on floor 3 of the main building. The bunker and radiation protection lock are connected to the existing building through various openings and recesses. A new construction site area required for the construction project will be created before work begins.
