Low-temperature scanning tunneling microscope
Reference Number: TU-014 / 19-201-ZMN
At the Technical University of Ilmenau, a scanning tunneling microscope is being set up as part of the project Research Laboratories Microelectronics Germany (ForLab), which operates at low temperatures (liquefied helium). and operated in ultra-high vacuum. With this device will be electronic, phononisand optical properties of atomic and molecular structures on surfaces investigated. The main focus is on the electron transport through superconducting single atom and single molecule contacts as well as on the spectroscopy of emitted electroluminescence.
Main Site: TU Ilmenau
