"Definition of obstacles to visibility for proof of visibility"
Basic principle of proof of visibility according toThe RAA and the RAL require that the available visibility across the network must be greater than the required one. The calculation of the existing visibility is required three-dimensionally. The RAA and RAL continue to stipulate that in the field of vision to be kept clear, in addition to the roadway, all obstacles that impair visibility (e.g. embankments with grass or Sbushes, noise barriers, protective devices, etc.) must be avoided up to the height of the line of sight. However, there are no more precise definitions of the obstacles to view, since selective obstacles are accepted.
On motorways and country roads, in particular, sign posts, masts of sign bridges and bridge pillars can often be found in the fields of vision. In how feThe RAA and RAL do not specify the dimensions and up to which dimensions these actually obstruct the view. As part of the research projects The definition of "obstruction of vision" and the derivation of a new proof of visibility for the update of the RAA and for the RAL should be specified. The recommendations developed should contribute to a roadworthy and efficient infrastructure .
