Through the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Global Compact for Migration (GCM), the topic of migration governance is of international importance won. For the first time there is an international framework whose goalsat national, regional and global level. Thus, there is a growing need for migration policy advice.

Migration is a global reality with many dimensions, potentials and challenges. Currently, about three percent of the world`s population - about 258 million people - live outside their country of originunderlines the need for "orderly, safe, regular and responsible migration" of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development in Objective 10.7.To achieve this goal, a well-managed migration policy is essential in the affected countries.
In this context, the issue of migration governance - speak the establishment and control of legal, political and ssocial conditions for migration - gaining international importance. As a German Federal Government Implementation Organization, the GIZ (German Association for International Cooperation) supports partner governments with migration policy advice on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), We are strengthening state and non-state actors to shape the challenges and opportunities of migration policy, and to help them harmonize their respective mandates and sponsors to promote dialogue between governments and the diaspora of their country. We use the Agenda 2030 and the GCM as a basis for orientation.
Through multi-actor dialogue formats, we enable our Paa structured exchange with stakeholders from politics, diaspora, civil society, business and academia on migration and development issues in general and implementation of the objectives of the migration pact in the specific. The goal is to build needs-based capacities for the migration pact and to jointly develop opportunities for the development of diaspora politicsGIZ seeks to provide qualified providers with a comprehensive package of 25 multi-stakeholder dialogues in 10 partner countries (Ecuador, Indonesia, Ghana, Georgia, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, Ethiopia, Tunisia and Colombia). International experts develop and evaluate the dialogues and conduct them in close cooperation with national experts in the partner countriesGIZ project managers through.
