Muzizi Hydropower Project
Project Measures:
The Muzizi HPP (approx. 48 MW) is located in Western Uganda along the Muzizi River about 6km upstream before entering the Lake Albert from the south-east side.
The project consists of a weir, a 2, 241 m long headrace tunnel, a vertical shaft (450m), a penstock in a pipe gallery (L=1, 158 m), a powerhouse and a tailrace channel. In addition to the hydropower scheme a high voltage switchyard and a transmission line (132kV) of approx. 5.5 km are foreseen.
Requested Services:
For the realisation of the Muzizi HPP, UEGCL as the Project Executing Agency, is looking for a consultant to award as the Owner’s Engineer (OE) for the project. It is foreseen to realise the project using the Plant and Design-Build (FIDIC Yellow Book) Conditions of Contract.
The consultancy services for Phase B - Project implementation shall include:
1. Owner’s Engineer (site supervision and commissioning)
2. Support UEGCL during implementation, commissioning and rectification of defects
3. Follow up the environmental and social impact mitigation measures
