Subject Irrigation Program North Macedonia

Project Objective:

The Irrigation Program North Macedonia concerns the rehabilitation and extension of up to 4 irrigation schemes (Straishte, HS Lisiche, Konsko and Pepe­lishte) in the Vardar River Basin. The purpose of the Program is the sustainable increase of the agricultural output (production and productivity) in selected irrigation schemes by improved availability and efficient use of water resources. This is to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the agricultural population in the Southern Vardar River Basin.

Requested Services:

The requested services are the implementation of the HS Lisiche and Straishte irrigation systems including all necessary social and environmental investment related measures - planned to be carried out from 2021 to 2027. All services are to be provided by “Implementation Consultants” (IC), viz. a team of international and local experts and specialists in the irrigation and agricultural infrastructure sector (engineers specialized in planning, design, tendering, construction supervision, etc.) and by other professional and administrative support staff. Efficient quality control and project management as well as backstopping services shall be made available through support to the PEA as follows:

Preparation and implementation of the Tender Process of the detail engineering services in compliance with (i) the Procurement Guidelines and (ii) the environmental and social standards;
Preparation of detailed designs;
Preparation and implementation of the Tender Process of the construction works and supplies in compliance with (i) the Procurement Guidelines and (ii) the environmental and social standards;
Monitoring and supervising the construction works and supplies, including support during the defects notification period;
etc.
