Expression of Interest are invited for Consultants to Review the University of The Gambia (UTG) Curricula at Undergraduate and Graduate Levels.

The University of The Gambia has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank toward the cost of the University of The Gambia Faraba Banta project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include review of the following areas:

1. Arts and Social Sciences

2. Physical, Natural and Biological Sciences

3. Medicine & Allied Health Sciences (Medicine, Nursing & Public Health Programmes)

4. Engineering

5. Agriculture (including Animal Science) and Environmental Sciences

6. Information Communication Technology (ICT)

7. Business and Public Administration

8. Law

9. Journalism

10. Education.
The review will concentrate on existing Bachelors and Masters programmes at UTG and is expected to be completed within six (6) Months. Please refer to the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in the local newspapers and IDB website on the 13th May, 2011.
The Projects Coordination Unit, MoBSE on behalf of The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, now invites eligible consultants (Universities) to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide specific information which demonstrate that they are fully qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Experience in the following area or tasks shall be the minimum requirement for the assignment:
• Postgraduate qualifications in curriculum development and the discipline (s) relevant to the assignment with a minimum of five years’ work experience on programme development in higher education will be of an added advantage,

• Competence and experience in developing training curricula for universities,

• Knowledge and experience in capacity building for universities with particular focus on curriculum development and the relevant discipline,

• Proficiency in English, and

• Excellent report writing skills.

Consultants may express interests in the forms of association, validated by an agreement among members of the association which clearly specifies the type of association, i.e. a joint-venture, intermediate forms of association, or sub consultancy.
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Guidelines for the Use of Consultants under Islamic Development Bank Financing (current edition).
