Background and rationale
In order to strengthen the capacity of community structures in the management of schools, RET International through its project " Support to communities affected by the crisis in Central Africa to improve access, equity and quality education of refugee children, returnees and host communitiesSupported by the Education Can not Wait (ECW), has planned to support the parents of students represented by the APE / AME to increase the financial and material means through (i) the management of the AGR which will bring them regular income (ii) Literacy courses and training will also enable them to improve their knowledge of school management techniques and their roles and responsibilities to provide an environment that facilitates access and retention of students. students at school. Thus, with their enhanced capacities, parents of students will act autonomously to strengthen the protection of students in schools, the monitoring of attendance of students and teachers,
It is within this framework that RET International is looking for an international trainer consultant to strengthen the capacity of education stakeholders to: (1) reduce inequalities in school by promoting access and permanence of learners, in particular girls; (2) support EPAs to develop skills in self-sufficiency and school affairs management; (3) offer training to teachers.
Purpose of the Consultant's Mission
The consultant will prepare, implement and evaluate the participants in the training by:
(i) Strategies and measures to make school a place of protection for learners and educational staff by integrating the "do no harm" approach;
(ii) Inclusive education: measures to make school accessible to all, including learners with disabilities or special needs. This with a special focus on measures to promote school enrollment of girls and adolescents.
The consultant will have to train 72 learners composed of school directors, APE / MEA members and community leaders such as village chiefs, pastors, Imams etc. The training will take place at the training center of the Catholic Church of Maro.
Expected results
The expected results of the training are:
· The principles of "Do not Harm" and Conflict Sensitive Education in humanitarian and transitional contexts are shared with participants;
· Strategies for girls' schooling and inclusive education that promote child protection and survival are known and mastered by participants;
· Participants develop. during the training, a specific monitoring and evaluation plan applicable in each school / classroom on the principles of "Do not Harm"
Consultant's mandate
To achieve these results, the consultant will perform the following non-exhaustive tasks:
· Based on existing documentation and personal experience, develop a training module to be delivered by theme. It is advisable to include INEE material on conflict-sensitive education;
· Give practice exercises to make the training more practical and practical;
· Submit to RET International the program, the content of the training and the planned application exercises;
· Preparing the workshop pedagogically and materially, in collaboration with RET International;
· Produce and provide participants with the linked text training module;
· Conduct a post training evaluation, analyze its results and include them in the mission report. ;
· Develop and submit to RET International the report of the training mission.
Consultant profile
The consultant must have at least a Master's degree (Master's degree, DEA, etc.), preferably in education or social sciences. He / she must have relevant experience as a high-level trainer in the field or, at least in similar fields. In particular, he / she must have already provided training in basic principles of education, including the principles of "Do not Harm" and / or conflict-sensitive education.
He / she should demonstrate sound knowledge of emergency education.
Proof of this achievement must be included in the technical offer.
He / she must be able to work and communicate clearly and professionally in French.
Methodology of work
The consultant as an expert and trainer will use the methodology that is most appropriate for him / her, but who will need to integrate participatory and participant-centered approaches that value their experiences.
Duration of the mission
The duration of the mission is 21 days maximum. The training will take place as an indication from July 20, 2018.
Presentation of the offer
The application letter will be accompanied by a letter of motivation and a curriculum vitae as well as any other document that may facilitate the recruitment decision.
The technical offer must include a note of understanding of the terms of reference, the working methodology, a chronogram and a provisional structure of the document.
The financial offer must include only the consultant's remuneration rate
The organizational costs (travel, accommodation, catering, traditional teaching material, reprography etc.) of the training will be borne by RET International. The consultant will nonetheless mention the list of teaching materials he will need for his training.
Property of the work rendered
The training document will be the property of RET International as soon as the final work is submitted. All copyright, copying and exploitation rights are reserved exclusively for RET International.
