STRATEGIC TOWNS WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION PROJECT (STWSSP)

The services under these assignments shall include:
Feasibility Studies:
Assessment of the water resource potential for town water
supply; Carry out a baseline and socio-economic survey;
Determine the per capita consumption and estimate the
anticipated demand for water supply and sanitation
services. The assignment will also include preparation of a
preliminary water supply design option(s); assess the
feasibility of incorporating renewable energy in the water
supply system; conduct a financial analysis for each town;
assess potential environmental impacts for all the water
supply and sanitation options and propose mitigation
measures.
Design: Conducting detailed engineering surveys and
designs, prepare detailed hydraulic narrative engineering
designs, technical specifications, bills of quantities,
drawings and engineering cost estimates including tender documentation and propose catchment protection mechanisms with emphasis on water shed and source
protection.
Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change: Assessing climate change hazards, exposure of the
population and ecosystems to these hazards and the available capacities or coping mechanisms
Duration of each Assignment: 12 months

The Ministry of Water and Environment, now invites consultants (firms) to indicate their interest in
providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are
qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar
conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. Consultants may constitute joint ventures
to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with
the Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations dated October 2015, which is
available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by 6
th September 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
