Tenders are invited for Consultancy Services Contract for The "Team Leader" to Supervise the Development of Lists of Btvet Tools and Equipment for 7 Vocational Training Institutes (Vtis).

Enabel in Uganda and the Ministry of Education and Sports are jointly implementing a 5-year project (2015-2020) to Support the implementation of Skilling Uganda strategy. This project is currently supported by the Belgian Government, the Irish Government and the European Union. The "Skilling Uganda" strategic plan (2012¬2021) is expected to transform Business Technical and Vocational Education and Training (BTVET) in Uganda into a comprehensive system of skills development for employment, enhanced productivity and growth.
The Support to Skilling Uganda (SSU) project of ENABEL aims at playing a vital role in accelerating and promoting the BTVET reform process foreseen in the Skilling Uganda (SU) Strategy. It is also working towards effective implementation of the Skilling Uganda at national and grass root levels, through a multilevel focus which is expected to mutually reinforce each other. Also with the aim of making the Skilling Uganda (SU) paradigm shift a reality, it focuses on improving the quality of skills development at a training institution level and making it more responsive to labour market needs; focusing on Western Uganda-Albertine and Rwenzori region (Kabarole, Masindi, Hoima, and Kasese), Karamoja, and in Northern Uganda.
The SSU project is working with seven vocational training institutions, as follows:
• Kasese Youth Polytechnic (Kasese);
• St. Josephs Virika Vocational Training Institute (Fort Portal);
• Millennium Business School (Hoima);
• St Simon-Peters Vocational Training Center (Hoima);
• Kyema Uganda Technical College (Masindi);
• St Daniel Comboni Polytechnic (Moroto);
• Nakapiripirit Technical Institute (Nakapiripirit).
ENABEL SSU Project therefore seeks to hire services of a
consultant to supervise a team of technicians during the
process of developing lists of specifications for BTVET Tools and Equipment to be used in the 7 VTIs supported by ENABEL in Uganda. The priority trades of the BTVET Tools & Equipment include:
• Electrical installation and renewable energy in Kasese Youth Polytechnic (Kasese);
• Motor vehicle and General Mechanics in St. Josephs
Virika Vocational Training Institute (Fort Portal);
• Hotel and catering in Millennium Business School (Hoima);
• Motor vehicle and General Mechanics Technology in St Simon-Peters Vocational Training Center (Hoima);
• Construction in Kyema Uganda Technical College (Masindi);
• Construction in St Daniel Comboni Polytechnic (Moroto);
• Agriculture, agribusiness and related trades in
Nakapiripirit Technical Institute (Nakapiripirit);
