ADA Project: Piloting of Circular Economy through the Water-Energy and Food Nexus in West Africa
The reduced generation and distribution of sustainable energy for productive use that is accessible and affordable especially to the most vulnerable population is one the biggest global challenges of our time. Access to energy has the potential to unlock socio-economic development especially through powering social services and productive uses. In the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) access to electricity rate is only 56% (2022).
With the support of Austrian Development Agency (ADA), ECREEE is developing the project “Piloting of Circular Economy through the Water-Energy and Food Nexus in West Africa” in four countries: Burkina Faso, Cote d-Ivoire, Liberia and Togo.
The design of this type of game-changing projects requires alignment with national interventions and ambitions to ensure synergies are built, duplication of efforts is avoided, and maximum socio-economic and environmental impacts are achieved, especially in favour of vulnerable populations such as women and youth.
As a first preparatory phase of the project, a scoping study shall be conducted in these countries in order to target value chains and communities in which the project will be developed. In view of this, ECREEE is seeking to hire an International Consultancy Firm to conduct these services in accordance with the Terms of Reference (ToR) attached.
