The Government of the Gambia has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of The Climate Smart Rural WASH Development Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this Grant to payments under the contract for Recruitment of a Consulting Firm for the waste management study and landfill design component of the project. This Request for Expression of Interest follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for the above project which appeared on the African Development Bank Group-s Internet Website: http://www.afdb.org and in the United Nations Development Business Ref. AfDB1295-11/18 of 23rd November 2018.
The Waste Management Study and Landfill Design consultancy has the following objectives:
I. To prepare Waste Management Study with the ultimate aim of preparing short-term action plans and longterm strategic plan for municipality of Brikama Area Council (BAC) through participatory approach in coordination with Municipality and stakeholders
II. To design of a cost-effective, affordable and non-hazardous and environmentally friendly Municipal Solid Waste Sanitary landfill site with capacity for 20 years of solid waste disposal from the Brikama municipality.
The Ministry for Fisheries and Water Resources & national Assembly Matters now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute Joint venture. The key staff and the experience required for the assignment are as detailed below.
Team leader shall possess master-s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering with at least 10 years of general experience 5 years specific experience on Solid Waste Management & environment engineering. Electro - Mechanical Specialist shall possess a minimum MSc degree in electromechanical /engineering. Environmentalist shall possess master-s degree in environmental management/engineering/science. Surveyor shall possess a minimum BSc degree in Surveying from an accredited University All members must have excellent English speaking and writing skills. The consultancy is expected to last for a period of nine (9) months.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank-s “procurement Policy framework dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank-s website at http://www.afdb.org
