The Laeiszhalle was donated by the ship's couple Carl and Sophie Laeisz and by the architects M. Haller and W.E. Meerwein 1904 - 1908 executed in the style of the neo -baroque. The outer design elements were chosen with rich sandstone ornaments according to the turn of the century. In addition, richly decorated, wrought -iron railings with botanical motifs and shale -covered mansard roofs, occupied with driven copper sheet sculptures. As the largest concert hall in Germany at the time, the music hall and the most modern concert hall in addition to the Elbphilarmonie is the most important building for classical music performances in Hamburg.
