Construction of a next-generation gigabit network in the underserved parts of the municipality of Nümbrecht using a lost subsidy The municipality of Nümbrecht has the goal of providing long-term support in the structurally underserved areas of the municipality to create a sustainable and high-performance broadband or gigabit network (NGA network). For this purpose, it submitted funding applications for part of the municipal area in 2016 and 2019 and signed a funding agreement with one in each case Network operators in the economic gap model completed. Economic efficiency gap model of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport took part and on November 14th, 2024 received a preliminary funding decision from the federal government. The approval of the early start of the measures by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which replaces the provisional funding decision, took place on December 6th, 2024.
