Tender Details

Tenders are invited for Construction of New Selander Bridge Project.
The Works consist of construction of:

i. 1.03 km New Selander Bridge; 4 lanes dual carriageway.

ii. Widening of 4.52 km existing paved roads from 2 lanes to 4 lanes;

iii. 0.68 km New road 4 lanes dual carriageway; and

iv. Intersections with 1 roundabout, 1 Signalised intersection, and 11 3-legs intersections
Bidders should note that to qualify for award of the contract, they are required to meet certain minimum qualification criteria. It should be noted that Bidders must be able to demonstrate that, in capacity of prime contractor, they should have successfully completed at least two (2) projects of similar nature of bridge of minimum span of 100m or total bridge length of 500m within the last ten (10) years. Bidders are required to provide full and detailed particulars of their financial capability to perform such works and to demonstrate that they have experienced key personnel with appropriate qualifications. As part of proof of experience on construction of bridges, Bidders are required to submit certified copies of form of contract for awarded contracts in the past, copies of Taking Over and Completion Certificates duly certified together with telephone number and email address of the previous Employer/Awarding Agency. Bidders should also note that the works must be completed within Thirty-Six (36) Months inclusive of three (3) months of mobilisation period and that they are required to provide detailed particulars of all the items of equipment and plant that they deem necessary to deploy for the timely completion of the works. Bidders who are proven non-performers need not apply as they will be disqualified.

upon payment of a non-refundable fee of TShs 300, 000 (Tanzania Shillings Three Hundred

Thousand Only) or its equivalent in freely convertible currency for each set. The mode of

payment should be by Banker’s Cheque payable to the Chief Executive, Tanzania National

Roads Agency, P. O. Box 11364, Dar es Salaam or by direct deposit or by telegraphic transfer to

8. Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 days after Bid opening, and must be accompanied by a “Bid

Security” in original and in an acceptable form in the amount of One Million, Five Hundred

Thousand United States Dollars (USD1, 500, 000) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency,

and the Bid must be submitted or be sent by registered post clearly addressed to: The Secretary,

TANROADS Headquarters’ Tender Board, 4th Floor, Airtel House, Ali Hassan Mwinyi/Kawawa

Roads Junction, P. O. Box 11364, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania so as to reach him on or before the

deadline for submission of bids.

The Bid Security shall be clearly addressed to: The Chief Executive, TANROADS, P.O. Box 11364, Dar es Salaam. The Bid Security shall be valid for Twenty-eight (28) days beyond the bid validity period.
