Prequalifications are invited for Construction of Muzizi Hydropower Project (48 MW).
The Prequaitficaiion process shall be earned out based on two separate lots: Lot 1 - Civil Works and Lot 2 - Electromechanical Works.
Accordingly, two separate Prequalilication processes shall be carried out simultaneously:
• Lot 1 - Civil Works: The scope of works to be prequalified under Lot 1 includes the civil engineering and construction ol hydraulic structures such as the dam/weir. intake and resen/oir, water conveyance structures such as headrace tunnel, pressure shaft, pipe gallery, powerhouse and tailrace channel, as well as foundations for the switchyard facilities and 132 kV and 33-kV transmission lines, access roads and operators` permanent camp and all other civil structures of a hydro power plant including compensation measures. The scope includes also the O&M Management and training of the O&M staff of the Client.
• Lot 2 - Electrical and Mechanical Works:
The scope of works under
Lot 2 includes the engineering, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of all mechanical and electrical works including three (3) high- head, multi-jet (6), vertical-axis Pelton turbines and generator sets including control systems, transformers, SCADA. switchyard and balance of plant; it also includes hydro- mechanical equipment (powerhouse and dam), steel-lined pressure shaft, steel penstock pipes and the 132 kV and 33-kV transmission lines. The scope includes also the O&M Management and training of the O&M staff of the Client
Following the Prequalification process, up to a maximum of five (5) Applicants will be selected for each of Lot 1 and Lot 2, who shall then be invited to participate in the subsequent EPC Tender. At the EPC Tender stage, the prequalified Applicants for Lot 2 will be available to associate with one or several of the prequalified Applicants for Lot 1 in order to submit a joint complete proposal as one EPC Contractor. The Lot 1 prequalified Applicants shall take the Lead in the association / consortium formed Pre-Qualification;
UEGCL is inviting all interested competent entities to submit applications lot pre- qualification to participate in the bidding process for the selection of an EPC contractor tor the Project. At this stage, a company shall only apply to be prequalified for either Lot 1 or Lot 2. (i.e.. not both).
The closing date and time for the submission of the responses to this request for pre-qualification is 07 August 2017 by 1600 hours (Ugandan time) at the latest. Any application received after the closing date and time will not be accepted The pre-qualification documents, in English, may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and proof of payment of a non- refundable fee of USD 100 (One Hundred United States Dollars)
