There is currently flooding in the Rhüden and Bornhausen areas. Um In order to throttle the outflow of the Schildau before it flows into the Nette, a controlled flood retention basin should be built. Flood protection is to be improved with a storage volume of 810, 000 m³ on around 25ha. There is also a dam body an average height of around 8.0 m and a length of around 380 m, so that a retention basin is created in the main reach. The embankment is planned with a slope of 1:5; the dam volume is approx. 180, 000 m³ inclusive Sealing core and dam base drainage. The work includes, among other things: the elevation of the farm road north of the basin, the construction of accompanying farm roads to the dam structure, the creation of two alternative bays...
