STADT UND LAND (SUL), WOBEGE Wohnimmobilien- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (WOBEGE) (100% subsidiary of SUL) and Wohnungsbaugesellschaft Hellersdorf mbh (WoGeHe) (100% subsidiary of SUL) intend to connect their housing stock to a fiber optic network (Fibre to the building FTTB) and have the buildings upgraded with FTTH (fiber optic to the rental unit). In order to ensure a uniform supply for tenants and to give tenants the opportunity to use modern multimedia services, broadband offers and other services via fiber optic networks in the future In order to be able to use further digital services, the SUL has decided to award the upgrade and supply as part of a concession. For this purpose, the SUL/WOBEGE/WoGeHe have their licensing and space rental rights within the group on the STADT UND LAND NETZE (NETZE) - one Subsidiary of SUL - which is to carry out a procurement procedure and award a uniform concession. The concessionaire for the fiber optic infrastructure is to build the FTTH networks, own and operate them, as well as offer a wide range of broadband services ensure for the tenants. At the same time, NETZE intends to reserve one fiber optic line (as dark fiber) per rental unit for the provision of housing services. Furthermore, new apartments built in the last 10 years already have FTTH networks provided by NETZE were built and are owned by NETZE. It is planned to sell these FTTH networks to the concessionaire. With the permission of the existing companies: SUL, WOBEGE and WoGeHe, NETZE intends to obtain the concession for the self-economic expansion of approximately 49, 000 rental units (ME) as well as the operation, maintenance and repair of the FTTH networks in the buildings (so-called network level 4, NE 4) for approx. 55, 000 ME in Berlin and the surrounding area.
