Confocal microscope with incubator

The SARS-CoV-2Dx joint project (FKZ 13N15745) aims to provide solutions for rapid diagnostics, targeted therapy and early detection strategies to combat SARS-CoV-2 infections in particular and viral diseases in generalen. These developed strategies and methods are then available to the diagnostic and therapeutic service pipeline of the Leibniz Center for Photonics in Infection Research (LPI). In terms of content, for example, in addition to providing inactivated sample materials for dAs technology develops, molecular, biochemical and spectroscopic methods for virus detection are also being developed. In addition, the pathogenesis of viruses will be analyzed in order to develop principles for therapy and prevention. For our research project we need an inverse fluxorescence microscope, which can be used in both the BSL-2 and BSL-3 range. Such use requires, on the one hand, the possibility of decontamination and a compact size that enables transfer. However, an extended, separate workstation would definitely be preferablefor the BSL-3 area, which can remain there. This extension would eliminate the need for time-consuming decontamination.
