Tender Details
Tenders are invited for Conduct of A Study on The Condition of The Fisheries Smoking Sub-Sector in Senegal and Development of An Intervention Strategy.
Energising Development (EnDev) is a global program active in 24 low and middle income countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa. The objective of this program is development through access to energy. In Senegal, EnDev is involved in rural electrification and the dissemination of improved stoves. However, the use of woodfuels for productive purposes is a subsector little explored by EnDev in the past. The processing of agricultural and fishing products consumes huge quantities of fuel, mainly wood. Thus, it is very important to also reduce the demand for fuel in the productive sector.
The main objective of this study is to assess the state of the fishery products processing sub-sector in Senegal Using wood fuels and to propose an intervention strategy:
Make a global presentation of the fish products smoking sub-sector
Draw up a table which presents the information below:
The number of sites and the different transformation techniques;
Most Used Fuels, Fuel Sources and Costs
Types of technologies (ovens), their consumption and economic profitability
The types of technologies (Tours) developed but not used and the reasons for non-use;
The number of men and women involved in the field ...;
Carry out an in-depth diagnosis of the sub-sector by identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats;
Bring out the technical and financial partners involved in this field, their approaches, the difficulties encountered by these partners, good practices ...;
Make recommendations and propose an intervention strategy.
