Complex renovation of the Quitzdorf dam TO2, M2.2.2 Sediment retention during damming Complex renovation of the Quitzdorf dam, TO2_M2.2.2_Sediment retention during damming The Quitzdorf dam (TS QD) is located in the east of the Free State of Saxony, in the district Görlitz immediately southwest of the town of Niesky and is operated by the State Dam Administration of the Free State of Saxony (LTV). The project includes one lot of the TS QD complex renovation. As part of the complex renovation, the TS QD must be completely dammed, whereby a significant sediment discharge is expected into the lower reaches of the Schwarzen Schöps (SSC). The associated effects of the backwater should be reduced with structural measures. For this purpose, measure M2.2 - sediment retention during Implement congestion. The contents and requirements of M2.2.2 are described below. The project sponsor (hereinafter: client (AG)) for the construction of the sediment retention during the damming is the Free State of Saxony, represented here by the State Dam Administration of the Free State of Saxony (LTV), Spree/Neiße Operation, Am Staudamm 1, 02625 Bautzen. The TS QD was originally built between 1965 and 1972 with the aim of using the SSC to provide process water for agriculture, but primarily for to dam the Boxberg power plant.
