The city of Garbsen intends to build a new integrated comprehensive school and primary school in Garbsen-Mitte for around 2, 000 students and 200 teachersRefurbishment of the existing building can only be secured with a disproportionately high structural effort, so that a refurbishment was completely called into question. An external report on the ability to restructure was able to support this assessment, so that the City Council of Garbsen in his draft resolution (No. 253/2019) specified the new building of the IGS Garbsen and the GS Garbsen-Mitte and commissioned the administration to carry out a so-called phase 0.
