Casinge deep bore Weisweiler R1 The Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research e.V. is the owner of a scientific permit field for the exploration of geothermal energy (“Aachen-Weisweiler field”) in the Aachen-Weisweiler area, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany). As part of the “Fraunhofer Reallabor Deep Geothermal Energy Rhineland” project in the Rhenish district of the “Aachen-Weisweiler” region (North Rhine-Westphalia), the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Infrastructures is exploring and Geotechnologies IEG (hereinafter referred to as Fh IEG or client or AG) the hydrothermal geothermal potential of the deeper subsoil. This includes two deep drillings with production tests and a seismic campaign in the period up to and including 2028 planned in the permission field. This tender is intended to procure casing for the casing of the first exploratory well “Weisweiler R1”. The execution of the maximum 4000 m deep, vertical exploratory borehole Weisweiler R1 is for this Q1 2027 planned.
