Carrying out orbital launch services from mobile and maritime launch platforms This is not a procurement procedure! It is a non-binding information query that serves the sole purpose of market research in accordance with Section 28 of the Procurement Ordinance (VgV). The German Space Agency in DLR e.V. would like to increase the availability and resilience of European launch sites. The demand for secured access to space has increased significantly in recent years. It is to strengthen resilience important to establish additional and alternative starting points to the “Centre Spatial Guyanais” (CSG) in French Guiana in the European Union (EU). There are alternative launch locations in Europe, such as the SaxaVord Spaceport and the Andøya Spaceport. However, these are located outside the EU and in high northern latitudes. However, for the European launch requirements expected in the coming years and decades, access to geostationary transfer orbits as well as the low inclination orbits that are particularly relevant for many satellite constellations are of central importance.
