Project description:
The new building is located in a prominent location on the Poppelsdorf campus, adjacent to the central square and along the urban axis Poppelsdorf Castle. It follows the master plan with a rectangular volume that accommodates the existing building lines and does not exceed the permitted height of 80 m.
The building is technically well thought out and optimally supports the requirements of research, teaching and administration. Four Staircases and two central cores ensure clear zoning and efficient access to laboratory, office and technical areas. All shafts for laboratory technology, technical building equipment (TGA), elevators and sanitary rooms are centrally arranged in the core brackets, which means short Paths and a clear infrastructure are made possible.
Around two thirds of the building area has a basement and houses central building technology, laboratory and storage rooms as well as special functional areas such as changing rooms, showers and chemical supply and disposal. The laboratory space is over shafts and...
