Delivery, assembly and commissioning of a battery storage system (BESS) The subject of this project is the construction and operation of a grid-connected stand-alone battery storage system (BESS) with an electrical connected load of 8 MW as well as a usable storage capacity of 16 MWh on the customer's premises. The storage system is to be connected to the customer's own 5 kV medium-voltage network via a medium-voltage transformer and is used for both provision systemically relevant reserve energy as well as participation in arbitrage trading. The battery storage facility is located on the power plant site of STADTWERKE FLENSBURG GMBH (SWFL). The system is designed as containerized or modular Storage solution is provided, consisting of battery systems, inverter units, transformer technology, protection and control technology as well as the necessary auxiliary systems. A key feature of the project is the permanent reservation of one Part of the storage capacity for customer operational requirements. 3.5 MWh of the total capacity is to be continuously kept available as secure start-up energy for gas turbines.
