Lots: Seedling - Species: Thunberg barberry (Berberis thunbergii) Variety: 'Atropurpurea' Life form: Deciduous thorny shrub. Type of root system: Closed (ZKS) in containers. Appearance: The bush should be dense, symmetrically developed, appropriate crown shape of a given variety (columnar, spherical or spreading). Condition of shoots: Shoots must be healthy, without signs of drying out. The bark is intact, without frost holes and mechanical damage. Presence of spines characteristic of the species. Foliage: Leaves (in growing season) should have a color typical for the variety (purple, golden, bright green). No signs of powdery mildew and rust (barberry specific disease). Root system (for ZKS): The roots must completely absorb the volume of the container, but not to be coked (overgrown in a circle). Living roots should have light tips.
