Assignment of the car service supplementing the railway services on the railway routes of the Lombardy Region Awarding of the contract relating to the public transport service of the supplementary services to the regional railway service, carried out continuously using automotive methods, to be awarded in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Code, Legislative Decree 36/2023. The analysis of the exercise program currently entrusted to Trenord highlights that the trips carried out in mode automobiles are distributed throughout the regional territory, being functionally integrated into the network of railway services, in a manner correlated to the availability or otherwise of the railway infrastructure, to the time slots and maintenance methods of the same, to traffic constraints, such as for example the absence of crossing points which prevents the inclusion of trips in the opposite direction. Consequently, the perimeter of the supplementary services entrusted coincides with that of the lines entrusted to Trenord (Annex 1.A.1 of the contract) and concerns the entire regional territory, including the extensions of these lines towards the neighboring regions, for a production quantity estimated at approximately 2, 300, 000 buskm/year.
