The Hedelfingen gymnasium and assembly hall is in serious need of renovation. In addition, it no longer meets today's requirements in terms of playing field dimensions, safety aspects and energy standards and only allows limited sporting and meeting use.A renovation or expansion of the existing hall is viewed as uneconomical. The districts of Hedelfingen and Wangen are undersupplied with gyms and sports halls in the area of club and general sports. According to a guideline-based needs assessment, the two city districts are lackingA total of 2.6 exercise units (one exercise unit corresponds to 405 m2 of hall space). The actual demand for additional hall times also confirms the existing shortage. The planned sports and meeting areas are, on the one hand, those for the Hed city districtsElfingen and Wangen are important areas for club and leisure sports, and on the other hand it is about restoring a versatile meeting place for the Hedelfingen district. In addition, the coordination with the local sports clubs showed that an additional sports gym would be goodt would be full. Also with regard to the integrative approach of the martial arts offerings offered in the district, the fixed location of the corresponding club offerings would be a good building block to advance these offerings, if necessary with the support of youth social workers.
