As part of animal ecology studies, it is necessary to assess the quality of food resources for aquatic organisms. The content of essential amino acids is an important criterion for food quality. Therefore, an amino acid analyzer needed to quantify the proportion of different amino acids in benthic biofilms, benthic invertebrates, other organic resources (e.g. leaves or aquatic plants) and prey fish. The analysis system must be used for the determination of Total and free amino acids in animal, plant and mixed tissue samples may be suitable. Amino acids to be determined are: lysine, threonine, alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, glycine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, phenylalanine, proline, serine, valine, thyrosine; Cyst(e)ine and methionine after oxidation as methionesulfone and cysteic acid, respectively.
