The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development has commissioned the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to implement the project "Sustainable Industrial Clusters II (S.I.C. II / Environmental and social standards in the textile and clothing industry in Ethiopia III (eTex III". S.I.C. II is co-financed by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom. The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the resilience of Ethiopia"s textile and garment sector amid macroeconomic challenges. To achieve this goal the project comprises three Outputs: (1) Worker support systems in the selected industrial clusters are improved. (2) Firms and industrial parks in Ethiopia have adapted their business practices to strengthen their resilience. (3) Business environment constraints faced by manufacturers in IPs and surrounding clusters are eased. In this context, GIZ is seeking to commission a contractor that provides a pool of short-term experts which is expected to provide specialised advisory services in the following areas of expertise: (1) Sustainability and production management in manufacturing industry expert - GIZ is seeking to contract an expert that would build the capacity of manufacturing companies to meet international standards and facilitate buyer matchmaking to increase business linkages.
