2026-05-rieg-fire station-walp-obj The structural conditions and external conditions of the Walpershofen fire department on Herchenbacher Straße no longer meet the technical and legal requirements of a modern fire department be provided. The existing rooms and areas are no longer large enough for daily operations. The fire brigade has access to rooms and areas in accordance with DIN 14092 and the guidelines of the accident insurance fund place. Furthermore, the FW should be prepared for the future fleet. On the basis of a feasibility study, the municipality of Riegelsberg decided to build the “new fire station in Walpershofen” at the location at Salbacher Straße 3 to be implemented in accordance with the agreed spatial and area program. The demolition of the existing building on the property at Salbacher Straße 3 and the subsequent construction of a new one on this property will take place when the new daycare center relocates to Herchenbacher Straße is.
