Zumikon heating network replacement heat generation The heating center or main supply of the Zumikon community's district heating network is housed in the Juch school building. The district heating network is powered by 2 fossil fuel boilers (2x 750kW) and a water/water heat pump operated with an output of 550 kW (total 2, 050 kW). The heat pump has 360° energy. This also operates or maintains the heat pump. The system mix of a fossil heating system with a heat pump system results in the transitional and Summertime high return temperatures in the system, which damage the heat pump system. In the winter period, the network works correctly and the result is an acceptable return temperature of approx. +45°C according to feedback from Energie 360°. The energy 360° Apart from an adjustment to the regulation in the Juch school building (Syspo), has not made any adjustments to the network. The high return temperatures of the district heating network are due to the lack of communication between the individual substations.
