Description

This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.203 in response to the mandatory requirement for a 10-day notification. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce the US State Department's intent to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price sole source contract with LEIDOS, INC. (SAM Unique Identity ID: G1JYD7L3V8B7) located at 11920 Democracy DR; Reston, Virginia 20190-5624 for the purpose of obtaining maintenance and training of the ZBV scanning system, which will enhance security and facilitate the detection of illicit trafficking of drugs and weapons along known smuggling routes into the United States. The Government intends to purchase the following as detailed in the attached SOW:

Z Backscatter Van (ZBV) maintenance contract for a (5) year period; Yearly ZBV Operator Training Course for a (5) year periodThe Government intends to negotiate solely with LEIDOS, INC. as per FAR part 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements); the NAICS code for this acquisition is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing). A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by 23 June 2023 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time will be considered.
