The Youth Apprenticeship Connections Program (YACP) prioritizes vocational service delivery gaps for youth and young adults ages 16-24 who are currently in care or transitioning from care. The YACP achieves the following objectives: 1) Establish a youth apprenticeship connections program model that removes barriers and proactively mitigates constraints to pursuing apprenticeships and vocational goals. 2) Establish a multicomponent and innovative youth apprenticeship connections program model that incorporates key services and supports. 3) Establish a youth apprenticeship connections program that will complement existing youth apprenticeship services and supports, addressing youth apprenticeship geographic service area gaps. The YACP is delivered province-wide with two mobile service teams providing services for Northern Alberta and Southern Alberta addressing the needs of eligible youth and young adults in both urban and rural communities. Services include: 1) Recruitment and Engagement: Activities designed for ease-of access, minimal barriers to entry and a continuum of support customized to each client, recognizing each client will be at different starting places in their exploration of the trades, their employment journey, and will have varying support and assistance needs.
