The installation is showing increasing malfunctions, no longer meets current energy efficiency standards and has an increased energy consumption carries a risk of failure. Further maintenance or repair is no longer cost-efficient or sustainable. To guarantee the continuity of the library's operation and at the same time focus on energy-efficient and future-oriented heating system, it is proposed to replace the current installation with a hybrid solution. In concrete terms, a combination of a gas boiler for the library area and a heat pump for the back office area was chosen. This configuration allows to apply the most suitable and efficient heating solution per function zone. The library section, with variable occupancy rates and higher heat demand, remains assured of a reliable heat supply via a gas boiler. It The back office area is better suited for heating via a heat pump, which contributes to lower energy consumption and a reduction in CO₂ emissions. This replacement not only increases operational reliability, but also meets the requirements energy efficiency and sustainability goals.
