Overview of the scope of work: The windows of the Jos Hébert building, installed in 1974, have exceeded their lifespan and are showing failures (condensation, rust, loss of waterproofing, deteriorated solar films). These problems have since caused infiltrations into the envelope for a long time and endanger the integrity of the building. Since 2009, 95% of sealed glazing units have already been replaced due to these failures, and two window strips totaling 21 sealed units. Despite these replacements, infiltrations remain and a final corrective solution must be identified. The multidisciplinary team (architect, mechanical engineer/energy efficiency, industrial hygienist) will be responsible for identifying the sources/causes infiltration, propose final corrective solutions and develop suitable remediation options, then recommend the best option to implement.
