In general, the work under these specifications includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and appurtenances necessary for the complete and satisfactory removal of all existing Water Remediation Technology, LLC (“WRT”) Z-88™ spent radium removal media (approximately 600 cubic feet - 300 cubic feet per vessel) in the two (2) existing radium removal treatment vessels at the existing Well No. 8 water treatment facility for the Township of Winslow, including, but not limited to, dewatering, storing, transporting and disposing all removed media in accordance with State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) regulations and all Federal regulations.The work also includes the installation of approximately 600 cubic feet of new WRT Z-88™ Radium Removal Media in the two (2) existing treatment vessels at the existing treatment facility including disinfection, testing and placing the existing treatment facilities back into permanent service, as described in these Specifications and Contract Documents. All work shall be performed by qualified personnel. The existing Well No. 8 Water Treatment Facility is located at 125 First Avenue, Township of Winslow, Camden County, New Jersey.The Contractor or Contractor-s Subcontractor shall currently possess all appropriate state, federal, and local licenses to handle, transport, and dispose of radioactive materials as required under the NJDEP Bureau of Environmental Radiation (BER) permit, a copy of which has been made part of the document. The Contractor shall provide proof of licensing and furnish chain of custody form origin to transportation and final storage and disposal, with copies of proper insurances and licenses.All work shall be completed within twenty-one (21) calendar days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Mobilization is scheduled to occur on July 25, 2025, and the plant is expected to be placed back into service by August 8, 2025.
