Description : Re: Water Treatment Rental Equipment & Chemicals Notice is hereby given by the City of Vancouver ("City") of its intent to contract with Carbonet Holdings Inc ("Carbonet") for the supply and delivery of water treatment rental equipment and chemicals. The City of Vancouver Engineering Services operates the Kent Yard facility, a 12-acre site, along the Fraser River. Storm water from the site is treated and stored in two large settling basins and discharged to the Fraser River which is regulated by a wastewater, discharge permit issued by the BC Ministry of the Environment. The water treatment system consists of two units with reduction of total suspended solids, regulating pH levels and storm surge storage. The current two water cleaning units are Carbonets original designs for the purpose to reduce total suspended solids, regulate pH levels and storm surge storage. The current system has been operating since 2009 to ensure improved water quality and conformance to permit requirements as mandated by the BC Ministry of Environment (MOE) under the provisions of the Waste Management Act.
