Tender Details

Prior Information Notice for Water and Environment Support Mechanism (WES).

Contract description
The purposes of this contract are i) to reduce the pollution reaching the Mediterranean Sea and ii) to strengthen the efficient use of water in urban and rural areas.
To do so, the contractor will provide technical assistance and trainings to enforce the national regulatory framework, to foster the dialogue at national and regional level and to promote the exchange of best practices among various stakeholders.
The support to the pollution prevention will be done within the framework of the Horizon 2020 for a cleaner Mediterranean and the Barcelona convention for the protection of marine environment. A special attention will be given to measures aimed at reduction and prevention plastic pollution.
The support to the water sector will concentrate on efficient use of water, ensuring, as a priority, rational and justified use of conventional water, and developing use of non-conventional water when needed.
The technical assistance will as well monitor and support demonstration projects that implement innovative approaches or replicate successful practices in the field of efficient use of water.
And finally, the project will as well support the Union for the Mediterranean technical groups in the field of environment and water.
