University of the West of Scotland (UWS) wishes to seek competitive tenders for all services associated with Waste Management Services.The contract shall include the following mandatory waste streams:- General Waste, Recyclates & Recoverables - Mandatory- Confidential Waste - MandatoryTenderers are also encouraged to submit proposals for the following “Optional” waste streams:- Chemical Substances & Materials- Clinical & Biological Materials- WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) & Associated Materials- Innovative Food Waste- Innovative Redundant IT & Electronics SolutionsWaste streams marked as “Optional” will only be included in the contract if:- the Contractor has included a proposed solution for any of the “Optional“ waste streams in their tender submission- the proposal is acceptable to UWS and offers value for money.Contractors are encouraged to sub-contract with SME-s, third sector companies and local companies to submit proposal for “Optional” waste streams.The Contractor shall provide a service compliant with current legislation for waste management services across the following locations (including student residences):- Ayr Campus- Paisley Campus
